Karate, Dance & Movement
Almost home is proud to provide physical activity for our children in the form of Karate, Dance & Movement classes for a number of years. Karate is a Japanese system of self-development using quick kicks and punches that boosts flexibility and improves concentration skills. Experts’ studies say the young minds learn respect and are often carried into school helping to improve behavior and grades. Martial arts help in developing self-discipline and socialization skills. Young children have tremendous amount of positive energy and absorbing nature that we try to channelize into these activities.
Dance and Movement
Young children are physical marvels. They can fold up like pretzels and roll down hills. They can dive onto beds from halfway across the room. At the playground, they can shimmy through tunnels and slither down poles. And aside from building muscle, all this activity stimulates intelligence.
Quenching your child’s thirst for movement may positively influence creativity and problem-solving skills, says an expert. Dance and movement is an activity class that is closely linked to learning, especially during the toddler and preschool years, when the brain, nervous system, and muscles are still growing rapidly. A typical hour long class includes a few structured activities that will help strengthen brain “muscle”.
